What you'll learn.

  • Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework to review and improve a workload design.
  • Design a multi-AZ VPC with public and private subnets, routing and layered network controls.
  • Write least-privilege IAM policies and use roles instead of long-lived access keys.
  • Choose the right compute, storage and database services for a stated set of requirements.
  • Select a disaster recovery strategy that meets a given RTO and RPO.
  • Reduce cost with purchasing options, storage tiering and tagging without weakening resilience.

About this course.

Most global employers now run at least part of their estate on Amazon Web Services, and the solutions architect is the person who turns business requirements into a design that survives failures, passes a security review and stays within budget. This course teaches that design thinking through the services you will meet on every project: IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS and KMS.

Each module is built around a decision you will be asked to make at work, such as choosing between Multi-AZ and a read replica or picking a disaster recovery strategy for a stated RTO. The language and scenarios follow the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) exam guide, so the course doubles as structured exam preparation.

Who this is for

  • Developers and system administrators moving into cloud architecture roles.
  • Infrastructure engineers who already use AWS and want a design framework rather than a list of services.
  • Candidates applying for cloud roles that list the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.

Skills this certificate proves: AWS (Advanced), Cloud security (Working), System design (Working).
